This border was redesigned to provide interest all year round. The colour scheme is warm with different shades of purple, red and yellow that comes together, creating a relaxed mood in the planting.
I have repeated the evergreens, deciduous shrubs and perennials throughout this border. The leaf textures in this planting contrasts between coarse and fine.
The plants with red-purple foliage such as Sambucus Nigra,Cotinus ‘Grace’ and Pittosporum provide a magnificent contrast with the yellow leaved of Choisya ‘Sundance’, Leycesteria Formosa and provide a harmonious background for the perennials.
The Alchemilla Mollis contrasts with the other plants as it spreads across the ground bringing them all to life and increasing the intensity of the contrast.
